LSI Office Building Little Rock, Arkansas
This office building was the brain child of Ron Tabor who was marketing the property on Cantrell south of Dillards Home Office. The site was part of the property that Ron had put together where an old Hoop manufacturing Plant had occupied for a zillion years.
This property has many stories and we are just one of the sentences. Sabrano, President of LSI verbally committed to us on this building. Ken and I must have designed his offices a dozen times.
Of course, as happens, before actually building on this site, Sabrano sells the company to some Mortgage Holding Company and the site for the new offices is relocated to Chenal and the building is designed by others.
There is a better story on the property south of Dillards Home Offices. The property on both sides of Cantrell were assembled by Ron Tabor. The Dillards site, the North part of Ron’s realty work, was the initial property developed. The South side a large acreage zoned commercial is the subject of the story. The tale goes that John Flake and Mr. Dillard were on a flight to somewhere on Dillard’s plan when John suggested to Mr. Dillard that he was working on a potential client who wanted the South property to build a large office warehouse facility.
Mr. Dillard had the plan set down at the nearest airport and set John on the tarmack. I think that is when the property became General Office only.
