New Central Fire Station – Monticello, Arkansas
Designed as a new Central Station and on a new site near the CBD, but central to projected growth patterns is designed to be a good neighbor within the existing zoning fabric, this two story facility provides a quality environment with support functions including a shop, training rooms, dayroom, and an apparatus room. Sleeping is located on the ground floor with the training room and storage on a mezzanine above.
The apparatus room is a drive-thru concept that accommodates, a ladder and, pumper truck, rescue unit and chiefs car. The building provides a living environment with facilities for men and women.
With the change in the political arena this study was abandoned for a new study with phased construction. The new fire station would be designed on property just across from the old Fire Station.
The old fire station when abandoned would become the expanded Police Department.
