MRI DIAGNOSTIC FACILITY - U of A Medical Center – Little Rock, Arkansas
The new MRI Facility is a 8,300 SF was designed to contain a 1.5 Tesla Clinical Magnet and Associated computer equipment for use in a teaching environment, with the ability to add a second magnet in the future.
The challenge was to design the facility to accommodate inpatients from the hospital, outpatients from the clinic and private physicians. In addition, the client was concerned about the negative effects of the “typical” magnet room upon the patient. Thus, the magnet room was designed with a skylight and integral windows that introduce natural light to help relieve patient stress.
