Maumelle Recycle Station Recycling & Transfer – Maumelle, Arkansas
In and effort to control pristine environments and water shed environments for today and future generations the EPA has mandated guidelines for collection and transfer of waste and recycling stations.
Cities that provide recycling and waste collection areas now must provide enclosures to protect the material from possible contamination. The mandate requires that such location be covered to prevent runoff and possible contamination.
The Maumelle Recycling and Transfer Station provide for a completely enclosed structure of 9,336 sq. ft. that provides protected area for transfer of waste and recycling bins for reuse.
An elevated upper level of the building allows for the transfer to 40 cu. Yd. Containers that will be transferred to regulated land fill.
The building including management office, two toilets and support facilities including shower, eyewash and janitor closet. The transfer area includes four bays. A separate area is provided for HAZMAT materials that cannot be recycled to land fill.
The city utilizes volunteer staff and the areas throughout are ADA accessible.
